Dementia is a condition characterized by loss of intellectual abilities that sufficient to hinder social and occupational function as well as activities of daily living. Caring of relatives with dementia is assumed to be more difficult and burdensome than caring for loved ones with other chronic condition and disabilities. This book will explore the degree of burden among caregivers of dementia patient and to determine the possible risk factors associated with higher burden. The level of burden was assessed using Malay Version Zarit Burden Interview and screening of the depression with PHQ-9 questionnaire. The caregivers whom experienced mild, moderate and severe burden were 69.3%, 28.0% and 2.7% respectively. About 17% of caregivers scored 5 or more on PHQ-9 suggest of possible depression. In conclusion, level of education and type of care given should be taken into account in the evaluation of caregivers'' burden. Screening of depression among the caregivers is important. This book should give useful information to professionals who involved in geriatrics care and health management.
