Evaluation of denitrification and the interaction of microorganisms in the rhizosphere by the use of slow release fertilizer and irrigation with wastewater may encourage the manipulation of N dynamics to increase the agricultural productivity of these soils and to minimize the environmental impact. This book aims therefore to contribute to the generation of tools and concepts that can help policy makers and planners to develop a more sustainable use of fertilizer sources in agricultural production from an enhanced environmental and financial management
